Win O is for Olympics and L is for London bookssdas

We are giving away a copy of O is for Olympics and of L is for London to five lucky winners of our competition.

Surrey start-up publisher Hogs Back Books has launched its children?s picture book and website, O is for Olympics by Ned Elliott and Zack McLaughlin (www.oisforolympics.com) to coincide with the Olympic flame coming to the UK and L is for London by Harriet Rowe (www.lisforlondon.com) published in readiness for the Jubilee year.

Both books are aimed at young children, but the quirky facts about the Olympics and about London ensure that older children (and their parents) have an entertaining read and might also learn something they never knew about the Games and the capital.

O is for Olympics covers both the Ancient and Modern Games with colourful illustrations and weird and wonderful facts.

Did you know that competitors in Ancient Athens used to take part naked? Or that ?hockey? gets its name from the French word ?hocquet?, which means ?shepherd?s crook?? Think about that when you are watching the great event in the summer - whether you are lucky enough to have bought tickets or glued to the television.

How did Australian rower, Henry Pearce nearly lose his gold medal in the 1928 Olympics?
