The successful candidate will lead the Gulf Region's Business Operations Unit in continuing to successfully implement its vision in order to create a strong platform of best practice deployment region wide. He/she will also lead the different countries and business units in the region as well as all cross-functional teams from Market Access, Sales, Marketing, Training and HR.

The primary purpose and main responsibilities are as follows:

The primary responsibility is to develop and implement strategic and tactical

processes/plans that will ensure the excellence in implementation of the commercial

strategy in the local sales & marketing organizations. (Customer Knowledge ?

Promotional resources ? Alignment of sales forces with brand strategy ? Technologies to assess customer response to promotion)

He/she will be responsible for ensuring MSD is utilizing best practice across the key areas of Sales and Marketing management including :Customer profiling, segmentation & targeting / Sales Force sizing / Resources allocation / ETMS-CRM /Analytical, Sales data, SF cost ratio, ROI / Coaching / Training / Incentive / Best practice sharing / Best practice in Strategy execution.

Based on a deep knowledge and understanding of the trends in the market and by closely monitoring competitors, he/she will provide business insights to ensure that his/her department is represented in all strategic decisions related to Sales and Marketing activities.

Specific responsibilities include:

Manage that the countries and business units as well as other commercial groups are streamlined and equipped to deliver high quality targeted solutions for the new product launches.

Ensure effective decision-making on all issues affecting the current and developing sales and marketing operations and sales forces strategies across the region.

Create and maintain an environment of teamwork and cooperation across the

Gulf Region countries.

Oversee and implement strategic sales and marketing excellence issues and supporting local sales and marketing management on local operational issues.

Deliver programs to benchmark and measure the effectiveness in sales and marketing / Stakeholders & Customers relationship.

Ensure the ongoing development of efficient internal and external data extraction,

analysis and reporting processes to meet the needs of sales and marketing teams.

Qualifications

This senior leadership role within MSD requires the proven experience of an

experienced pharmaceutical professional whose attributes match the following parameters:

Science or Business Administration degree with an MBA degree.

Proven track record in a mid ? senior management position with experience in strategic, line or project management roles in healthcare. Experience gained in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Technology industries is preferred.
